A human being can bear pain and suffering from an endless number of emotional, psychological problems and challenges, most of these can be traced back to developmental trauma and to the compromised development of core capacities that are essential to our physical and emotional well-being.

Many of us have an impaired capacity for connection to self and to others and so endure a diminished aliveness and vibrancy of our inner and outer lives. In our sessions we explore the hidden dimensions that underlie psychological and physiological problems, working to re-regulate the nervous system and to resolve identity distortions—such as low self-esteem, shame, and chronic self-judgment—initiated by developmental and relational trauma.

Even without severe trauma, there is a degree of separation between body/mind – a casualty of our Western culture – most of us are affected to some degree.

There are many causes and triggers of harmful stress and trauma including unhealthy relationships, emotional overwhelm, childhood neglect, abuse and maltreatment, surgery, illness, physical injuries, high impact incidents, rape, inescapable attack, and collective or second hand trauma.

Symptoms of trauma can include; anxiety and panic, headaches, unidentifiable feelings of unease, gastrointestinal disorders, chronic pain, emotional stress, hyper-vigilance, sleep disorders, feelings of shame, dread or doom, unyielding grief, autoimmune syndromes, unresolved relationship issues, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and unresolved tiredness and/or lethargy, and more.

The feelings of helplessness and hopelessness are a common occurrence for those who have unresolved trauma, as well as a sense of separation, dissociation and disconnection, or simply a feeling of being stuck.

Julie’s approaches is non-aggressive and emphasizes helping to establish a coherent and functional self. We help the body’s self-regulatory capacities by supporting nervous system regulation and the gentle re-incarnation of the psyche/soul.

Through the work, complex physiological changes gently take place, allowing the body to become more organized as peace and joy to return to life.

During any session we foster the emergence of new and healing experiences through the in-depth processing of difficult trauma. We discover places that have always been strong and were never broken. Any frozen states are gently thawed, and incomplete defenses are gently and safely completed. Crisis and suffering offer opportunity. Often extraordinary capacities awaken that otherwise would lie dormant, unknown and untapped. We all have a basic need for transformation. We strive for utmost safety, while discovering the authentic self, vitality, and contact. In the right environment, safety, joy and vitality will characterize this transformative process.
